William Wood in later life also wrote a number of articles for "countryside" publications, including Lincolnshire Life, The Poacher, The Countryman and Evergreen, amongst others.

A dramatised story about Thomas Paine, the revolutionary writer born in Norfolk, regarded by many as an unsung Founding Father of the United States of America.
(Tom Paine is mentioned in a Bob Dylan song on the album John Wesley Harding, although this isn't something that would have greatly impressed William Wood!)

A dramatised documentary about Edward Thring, innovative headmaster of Uppingham School, who transformed a small country grammar into one of Britain's renowned public schools.
